Electrical Responsibilities
- Operate, maintain, inspect, test, and repair all electrical and electronic equipment onboard the vessel.
- Maintain generators, switchboards, transformers, UPS systems, batteries, emergency power supplies, and associated protection systems.
- Maintain electrical systems supporting DP3 capability and coordinate with the Chief Engineer, electrical personnel, and DPOs on operational defects.
- Maintain spare parts, consumables, tools, testing equipment, detailed maintenance logs, and required operational reports.
- Maintain Heli-admin and helicopter communications and verify the compatibility and compliance of mobilized electrical equipment.
HSE Responsibilities
- Stop unsafe acts, reinforce HSE culture, and ensure safe working environments, equipment use, inspections, and protective equipment.
- Ensure workers are trained, competent, authorized, inducted, and informed about relevant health, safety, and environmental requirements.
- Conduct or ensure risk assessments, emergency procedure briefings, toolbox talks, pre-job safety meetings, and permit-to-work processes.
- Report and investigate accidents, dangerous occurrences, and environmental incidents and implement corrective actions.
- Ensure operations comply with HSE legislation, company policies, plans, procedures, and environmental requirements.
Required Certification and Experience
- Extensive experience as a Chief Electrician onboard DP vessels.
- BOSIET or FOET OPITO certificate.
- H2S OPITO certificate.
- DP Maintenance certificate.
Work Environment
- The role is performed onboard a vessel and supports vessel electrical systems and DP3 operational capability.
