Chief Compliance Officer

The Chief Compliance Officer is a part-time, remote role responsible for overseeing and strengthening Yak Biergarten’s compliance framework across legal, regulatory, financial, and operational areas.

On a day-to-day basis, this role evaluates existing policies, designs and updates compliance procedures, and ensures adherence to local laws and industry regulations related to hospitality, alcohol service, safety, and financial reporting.

The Chief Compliance Officer monitors risk, conducts regular compliance reviews, and prepares reports and recommendations for leadership to support sound decision-making.

This role collaborates with management, finance, and operations teams to provide guidance, deliver compliance training, and address potential issues proactively.

The position is expected to maintain clear documentation, uphold ethical standards, and promote a culture of accountability and transparency.

• Strong skills in Compliance Management and Regulatory Compliance, with experience designing and implementing compliance programs.
• Excellent Analytical Skills to assess risk, interpret regulations, and evaluate the effectiveness of policies and controls.
• Effective Communication skills to coordinate with cross-functional teams, prepare reports, and deliver clear guidance and training.
• Solid understanding of Finance, including basic financial reporting, internal controls, and compliance-related financial processes.
• Prior experience in compliance, legal, risk management, or a related field; hospitality, food and beverage, or brewery sector experience is an advantage.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently in a remote setting, manage priorities, and meet deadlines with minimal supervision.
• High ethical standards, attention to detail, and commitment to fostering a culture of integrity and regulatory adherence.
• Bachelor’s degree in Law, Business, Finance, or a related discipline; advanced certifications in compliance or risk management are a plus.
