SylvCare is recruiting a Chief Accountant or Senior Accountant for a specialist healthcare organization.
The role oversees accounting operations, financial reporting, internal controls, budgeting and compliance while supporting senior management with financial information.
Accounting and Reporting
- Manage the full accounting cycle and day-to-day finance operations.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements.
- Maintain the general ledger, accounts payable and accounts receivable.
- Review journal entries, reconciliations and month-end closing activities.
- Prepare management reports and financial analysis.
- Monitor cash flow, revenue, expenses and financial performance.
Budgeting and Controls
- Prepare and monitor annual budgets and financial forecasts.
- Analyze budget-versus-actual performance and material variances.
- Oversee bank reconciliations, supplier payments, expense approvals and payment schedules.
- Maintain fixed asset records and depreciation schedules.
- Develop internal financial controls and accounting policies.
- Identify financial risks, discrepancies and process weaknesses.
Healthcare and Compliance
- Monitor patient revenue, insurance receivables and other healthcare-related income streams where applicable.
- Coordinate with billing and operations teams on revenue recognition and collections.
- Manage UAE VAT accounting, reconciliation and filing requirements.
- Support Corporate Tax compliance and coordinate with external tax advisors or auditors.
- Liaise with external auditors and prepare supporting documentation.
- Work with clinic management to improve financial efficiency and profitability.
Candidate Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline.
- Strong experience as a Chief Accountant, Senior Accountant or similar senior finance professional.
- Strong knowledge of UAE VAT, accounting principles and financial controls.
- Experience with budgeting, forecasting, management reporting, Excel and accounting or ERP systems.
- Professional accounting qualification such as ACCA, CMA or CPA is advantageous.
- Healthcare or ophthalmology accounting experience is highly advantageous.
- Arabic and English communication capability is preferred.
