Role Overview

Accounting Operations

• Manage and supervise the full accounting cycle and day-to-day finance operations.
• Maintain the general ledger, accounts payable, and accounts receivable.
• Review journal entries, reconciliations, and month-end closing activities.
• Ensure timely bank reconciliations and monitor cash and banking transactions.
• Maintain fixed asset records and depreciation schedules.

Reporting and Planning

• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and management reports.
• Monitor cash flow, revenue, expenses, and overall financial performance.
• Prepare annual budgets and financial forecasts.
• Analyze budget-versus-actual performance and identify material variances.
• Support financial planning, cost control, and profitability analysis.

Healthcare Finance

• Monitor patient revenue, insurance receivables, and other healthcare-related income streams where applicable.
• Coordinate with billing and operational teams on revenue recognition and collections.
• Work closely with clinic management and operational leadership to improve financial efficiency.
• Support payroll review and financial controls related to employee compensation.

Compliance and Controls

• Ensure compliance with UAE accounting, tax, and regulatory requirements.
• Manage UAE VAT accounting, reconciliation, and filing requirements.
• Support Corporate Tax compliance and coordinate with external tax advisors or auditors where required.
• Liaise with external auditors and prepare schedules and supporting documentation.
• Maintain internal financial controls, accounting policies, documentation, and record retention.
• Identify financial risks, discrepancies, and process weaknesses and recommend corrective action.

Team Support

• Supervise or mentor junior accounting staff where applicable.

Candidate Requirements

• A bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline is required.
• Strong experience as a Chief Accountant, Senior Accountant, or similar senior finance professional is required.
• Strong knowledge of UAE VAT and financial compliance requirements is required.
• Good understanding of budgeting, forecasting, and management reporting is required.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial controls is required.
• Strong Excel skills and experience with accounting or ERP systems are required.
• The role requires independent financial reporting, attention to detail, deadline management, and stakeholder communication.

Preferred Profile

• A professional accounting qualification such as ACCA, CMA, CPA, or equivalent is advantageous.
• Previous accounting experience within the UAE is strongly preferred.
• Healthcare, hospital, medical center, clinic, or ophthalmology accounting experience is highly advantageous.
• Experience with full-cycle accounting, auditors, VAT, and regulatory compliance is preferred.
• The ability to work independently and take ownership of the finance function is preferred.
• Arabic and English communication capability is preferred.
