Job Summary
Lead restaurant kitchen production while maintaining quality, consistency, food standards, and operating goals.
Personally perform culinary work while supervising staff and managing food-related functions.
Education and Experience
- High school diploma or GED plus four years of related culinary, food and beverage, or professional-area experience.
- Alternatively, a two-year degree in Culinary Arts, Hotel and Restaurant Management, or a related major plus two years of related experience.
Culinary Operations
- Develop or create new restaurant applications, ideas, relationships, systems, products, and artistic contributions.
- Supervise kitchen shifts and ensure compliance with food and beverage policies, standards, and procedures.
- Maintain food preparation, handling, storage, sanitation, and temperature standards.
- Plan food quantities, plating requirements, daily production needs, and food presentation.
- Prepare and cook food for regular service, special guests, and functions.
- Check raw and cooked food quality and assist with daily and seasonal menu development.
