Stirling Dynamics is seeking to recruit an experienced Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) Engineer – Contractor Position to support a range of current and upcoming programmes of work. The Contractor will work within a small team to deliver a variety of CFD modelling activities and analyses.
The role will best suit an individual with significant industry experience within the aerospace domain. The ideal candidate will hold UK citizenship.
Interact with internal and external customers on a technical and programme level.
Develop suitable new methodologies and conduct CFD analyses at a consistently high standard.
Quickly acclimatise to current projects/programmes and progress ongoing tasks with existing methodologies.
Preparation, presentation of technical reports and proposals.
Support the preparation of project management planning documentation including quality and technical plans.
Maintain the project documentation in accordance with the company’s Quality Management System.
Manage multiple tasks and deliver within agreed timescales.
Interact with other engineers and customers on a technical and project level
Candidates will ideally be degree qualified (or equivalent), in a related discipline.
Experienced in aircraft OML design activities (within industry).
Highly proficient in CFD modelling with ANSYS toolsets including SPACECLAIM, DISCOVERY and FLUENT.
Steady and unsteady external aerodynamic flows of civil and/or military aircraft.
Extensive hands‑on experience working in low‑speed, subsonic, and transonic regimes, including performance optimisation.
Self-motivated, professional candidate with the ability to proactively problem-solve independently.
An ability to manage multiple tasks.
