What you’ll do

  • Collaborate with suppliers to negotiate mutually beneficial agreements that align with customer needs and commercial objectives.
  • Develop and execute category plans that provide a clear roadmap for supply partners, ensuring effective collaboration and alignment.
  • Drive sales growth and profit improvement by implementing strategic category initiatives that optimise product offerings and merchandising strategies.
  • Identify and capitalise on opportunities that enhance customer satisfaction, streamline store operations, and reduce costs for Woolworths.
  • Continuously evaluate supplier capabilities, proactively seek new partnerships, and cultivate existing relationships to secure long term competitive advantage.

What you’ll bring

  • Prior experience as an Assistant Category Manager or Category Manager is required.
  • Demonstrated success in developing and executing customer focused category plans aligned with the divisional strategy and supported by sound commercial insights and data.
  • Strong negotiation and influence skills with cross functional and external stakeholders at all levels of the business.
  • Proven experience conducting category reviews.
  • Ability to become an industry expert in the field of responsibility within New Zealand.
