Role overview
The Cashier handles customer transactions accurately and efficiently while providing excellent service.
The role requires a friendly demeanour, strong communication skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Checkout and customer service
- Greet customers and provide assistance as needed.
- Process cash, credit, and debit transactions using a cash register or POS system.
- Balance the cash register at the beginning and end of each shift.
- Assist with product selection and explain promotions and discounts.
Store operations
- Maintain knowledge of frozen foods and various types of meat.
- Keep checkout supplies stocked and the checkout area clean and organized.
- Follow store policies and procedures for a safe and secure work environment.
- Coordinate with staff, deliveries, and order pickups.
Team and food safety
- Participate in team meetings and suggest improvements to store processes and customer satisfaction.
- Adhere to food-safety and sanitation controls.
