The role supports the manufacture of small arms ammunition through operation, setting, maintenance and repair of production plant and equipment.
Location and working pattern
- The position is based on site at Radway Green.
- The role requires working three shift patterns on rotation.
Salary

Core duties
- Operate, set, maintain and repair production plant and equipment.
- Ensure processes are safe and escalate issues affecting safety in the production area.
- Provide and follow dynamic risk assessments for non-standard operations and tasks.
- Meet relevant quality standards and support quality improvement projects.
- Operate manufacturing processes to meet production programme, efficiency, utilisation and OEE requirements.
- Support continuous improvement activities and provide support to apprentices.
- Identify and implement solutions to safety, quality and production problems.
Essential skills and experience
- Time-served engineering apprenticeship with experience in a metal forming or turning environment.
- Experience working in a mechanical environment.
- Experience setting and operating Power Presses.
- Press Inspection Course training for conducting press safety inspection checks under the Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulations 1998.
- Applicants must achieve at least Baseline Personnel Security Standard clearance.
