Caregiver Coordinator

• Strong understanding of caregiver support, child and family wellbeing, family preservation, and community-based caregiving approaches.
• Knowledge of trauma-informed, strengths-based, relationship-based, and culturally safe practice approaches.
• Understanding of the historical and ongoing impacts of colonization, residential schools, child welfare systems, and intergenerational trauma on Indigenous children, families, and communities.
• Strong interpersonal, communication, facilitation, and relationship-building skills.
• Ability to engage and support caregivers and families through challenging situations while maintaining professionalism, empathy, and objectivity.
• Ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams, Elders, Member Communities, and external service providers.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple cases, priorities, deadlines, and documentation requirements.
• Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment when handling sensitive personal and family information.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, electronic records management systems, and data entry platforms.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a clear Criminal Record Check and Ministry of Children and Family Development (MCFD) Prior Contact Check.
• Must possess and maintain a valid Class 5 BC Driver's License and provide a current driver's abstract.

• Diploma in Social Work, Child and Youth Care, Human Services, Community Services, Indigenous Studies, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Minimum three (3) years of experience in social services, child and youth care, family support, caregiving support, or a related field.
• Minimum one (1) year of experience working with Indigenous children, families, communities, or organizations.
• Experience supporting caregivers, foster families, kinship caregivers, youth, or vulnerable families is considered an asset.
• Experience facilitating workshops, training sessions, support groups, presentations, or educational programming is considered an asset.
• Demonstrated knowledge of trauma-informed practice, harm reduction, family preservation, and strengths-based approaches.
• Experience collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, community organizations, healthcare providers, schools, and support services is considered an asset.
• Knowledge of child welfare, delegated services, caregiver support programs, or Indigenous child and family services is considered an asset.
• Demonstrated knowledge and professional or personal practice of nłeʔkepmx and syilx traditional values, cultural practices, and protocols is considered an asset.

• Relationship Building: Ability to establish trust and maintain respectful, collaborative relationships with caregivers, families, Elders, communities, and service providers.
• Motivation and Initiative: Self-motivated, proactive, and committed to continuous learning and improving outcomes for children, families, and caregivers.
• Time Management: Highly organized with the ability to balance competing priorities, meet deadlines, maintain documentation, and coordinate multiple activities.
• Conflict Resolution: Ability to de-escalate concerns, facilitate productive conversations, and resolve issues respectfully while maintaining positive working relationships.

The maximum of the salary range is generally reserved for candidates who closely match or exceed all preferred qualifications , possess extensive relevant experience, demonstrate exceptional competency in the position's key responsibilities, and can make an immediate contribution at a highly proficient level.
