Reporting to the Resource Team Leader, the Caregiver Coordinator is responsible for coordinating supports for kinship caregivers, traditional caregivers and foster parents to ensure the wellness of children and young people associated with SCFSS. The Caregiver Coordinator contributes to building a caregiver support network which provides culturally safe care for children and young people in our Member Communities and advocates for children and young people in care by enhancing family relationships and wellness through education, mentorship and connecting caregivers to resources. The Caregiver Coordinator develops positive working relationships with our Member Communities, Elders, and other community partners.
As a member of the SCFSS organization, the Caregiver Coordinator is committed to the collective response to the Call to Action through the four Strategic Directions and supports a pathway of change to exercise nłeʔkepmx and syilx inherent rights.
In particular, the Community Caregiver Coordinator champions core elements of the strategic goals of ‘Protection to Prevention’.
