Canopy - QA Team Lead

Supervisory Responsibilities

• This role does not have personnel supervisory responsibilities; however, this role includes working with cross-functional teams in a matrixed organization.

Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required

• Associate's degree (AA) or equivalent; a technical degree or certification in Quality Control, Packaging Science, Materials Science, or a related field is a plus.
• 3+ years of experience in quality control/inspection within a personal care, beauty packaging, or plastics/injection molding manufacturing environment.
• Internal auditing experience required, including familiarity with GMP, ISO 9001, and ISO 15378 audit processes.
• QMS auditor certification preferred.
• Experience in beauty care, cosmetics, or other regulated consumer packaged goods manufacturing.
• Understanding of ISO 9001, ISO 15378, and current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP) quality management requirements, with the ability to plan and lead internal audits against these standards.
• Proficiency with inspection tools (e.g., calipers, micrometers, scales, spectrophotometers) and quality documentation software.
• Experience with document control systems and SOP lifecycle management, including document creation, review, approval, revision, and archiving.
• Knowledgeable in maintaining controlled document logs and ensuring compliance with document retention and traceability requirements.
• Knowledgeable in Statistical Process Control (SPC) analysis, root cause analysis, corrective actions, and problem-solving methodology.
• Strong leadership and training skills; ability to guide and direct the work of QA Operators.
• Capability to solve complex problems, utilizing strong critical thinking and decision-making skills.
• Must be able to work well with others, build partnerships, and support team members.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Detail oriented, with the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
• Flexible and adaptable; able to work in ambiguous situations.
• Display highest ethical standards.
• Maintain the utmost level of confidentiality in dealing with sensitive information.
• Ability to maintain regular and reliable attendance.
• Takes initiative and asks for help when needed.
