A Camp Boss in the construction industry manages labor accommodation, ensuring high standards of hygiene, safety, and security while overseeing facilities, catering, and staff welfare.
They are responsible for room allocation, maintenance, and enforcing camp rules for residents.
Key Responsibilities
- **Accommodation & Facilities Management:**
- Supervising daily operations, including room allocation, cleaning, maintenance (plumbing, electrical), and keeping the premises in safe, orderly condition.
- **Welfare & Compliance:**
- Acting as the main point of contact for employee grievances, ensuring compliance with UAE labor laws, health standards, and company regulations.
- **Security & Safety:**
- Managing security personnel, conducting regular inspections, and implementing emergency response procedures, such as fire safety protocols.
- **Logistics & Operations:**
- Overseeing the pantry/mess hall, managing food supply, planning menus, and coordinating transportation for staff.
- **Reporting:**
- Preparing reports for management regarding camp occupancy, maintenance issues, and incident reports.
Skills And Qualifications
- **Experience:**
- 7-10 years proven experience as a Camp Boss or in a similar supervisory role within the construction sector.
- **Skills:**
- Strong leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- **Knowledge:**
- Familiarity with UAE health, safety, and labor regulations.
- **Communication:**
- Ability to communicate effectively with diverse, multicultural teams.
