About the Role
Confidential Company seeks a Buyer – Logistics to source and manage contracts with freight forwarders, shipping lines, and logistics providers. The role involves procurement of import/export logistics services, supplier management, cost optimization, and operational support across the UAE, Saudi Arabia, and Oman.

Responsibilities
- Source, evaluate, negotiate, and manage contracts with freight forwarders, shipping lines, customs brokers, and international logistics providers.
- Procure import and export logistics services for raw materials, machinery, and finished goods.
- Lead sourcing activities for air freight, sea freight, road transportation, customs clearance, and warehousing.
- Manage procurement of local transportation and last mile delivery services across UAE, Saudi Arabia, and Oman.
- Conduct competitive tenders, RFQs, RFPs, and contract negotiations.
- Develop sourcing strategies to improve service levels and reduce logistics costs.
- Establish and maintain strategic relationships with logistics service providers.
- Monitor supplier performance through KPIs and conduct supplier reviews.
- Drive cost optimization through rate benchmarking, contract negotiations, and consolidation strategies.
- Prepare procurement reports covering logistics spend, savings, and supplier performance.

- Experience in logistics procurement and supplier management
- Knowledge of freight forwarding, customs clearance, and warehousing
- Strong negotiation and contract management skills
- Ability to manage RFQs, RFPs, and tenders
- Experience with cost optimization and supplier performance monitoring

Logistics Procurement
- Source, evaluate, negotiate, and manage contracts with freight forwarders, shipping lines, customs brokers, and international logistics providers.
- Procure import and export logistics services for raw materials, machinery, and finished goods moving to and from the UAE.
- Lead sourcing activities for air freight, sea freight, road transportation, customs clearance, warehousing, and related logistics services.
- Manage procurement of local transportation and last mile delivery services across the UAE, Saudi Arabia, and Oman.
- Conduct competitive tenders, RFQs, RFPs, and contract negotiations to achieve optimal commercial and service outcomes.
- Develop sourcing strategies that improve service levels while reducing logistics costs.
Supplier Management
- Establish and maintain strategic relationships with logistics service providers across the GCC and international markets.
- Monitor supplier performance through KPIs including on time delivery, transit times, service quality, claims management, and cost competitiveness.
- Conduct supplier reviews and implement corrective actions where required.
- Identify and onboard alternative logistics providers to ensure business continuity and supply chain resilience.
Cost and Contract Management
- Drive cost optimization through rate benchmarking, contract negotiations, and consolidation strategies.
- Monitor market trends and freight indices to identify cost saving opportunities.
- Track logistics spend and support budgeting and forecasting activities.
- Ensure contracts are maintained, renewed, and compliant with company policies.
- Deliver annual cost reduction and value improvement initiatives.
Operational Support
- Collaborate with Supply Chain, Production, Sales, and Warehouse teams to support operational requirements.
- Resolve logistics service issues, delays, claims, and supplier disputes.
- Support inventory optimization by ensuring reliable inbound and outbound transportation services.
- Ensure compliance with customs, trade regulations, and local transportation requirements across operating countries.
- Ensure on time movement of materials from supplier to plant, minimizing delays and demurrage.
Reporting and Continuous Improvement
- Prepare procurement reports covering logistics spend, savings, supplier performance, and market trends.
- Analyse transportation data and identify opportunities for process improvements.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance logistics efficiency and customer service levels.
