About the Role
Join Elective, a Vancouver-based Series A fintech offering a Learn Now, Pay Later solution for course creators, coaches, and educators.
Report to the Head of Finance & Risk while working closely with the Co-Founder & CEO.
Own credit risk, merchant risk, and operational initiatives that support company growth and performance.
This is a high-visibility role involving projects that directly affect company direction and operational excellence.
Ongoing Responsibilities
- Lead merchant underwriting and onboarding workflows, including cases outside standard underwriting criteria.
- Improve merchant underwriting and risk assessment frameworks.
- Develop merchant pricing proposals that balance competitiveness with risk-adjusted returns.
- Analyze loan book performance and recommend actions to improve portfolio returns and mitigate losses.
- Evaluate data points and provide recommendations for the consumer underwriting model.
- Deliver monthly management risk reports and weekly merchant risk and portfolio health reports.
- Support new credit product design and launch through financial modeling, risk assessment, and go-to-market analysis.
- Use AI tools and automation to create workflows and improve operational scalability.
