Business Development Engineer

Role Overview

Business Development

• Identify opportunities in transport and oil and gas and develop relationships with contractors, EPC companies, main contractors, subcontractors, and major clients.
• Generate leads for buses, vehicles, heavy equipment, cranes, tankers, and other transportation rentals.
• Research markets and upcoming projects, tenders, mobilization requirements, and client needs.
• Maintain a pipeline of potential projects and customers and negotiate rental rates, contract conditions, and payment terms.

Tender and Commercial Work

• Review RFQs, RFPs, tenders, and client inquiries and assess their technical and commercial requirements.
• Prepare quotations, commercial offers, and tender submissions while identifying risks, exclusions, conditions, and operational requirements.
• Calculate revenue, operating costs, manpower, fuel, maintenance, mobilization, permits, insurance, and other project expenses.
• Determine gross margin and profitability, compare market rental rates with operating costs, and support pricing decisions.

Client and Operations Coordination

• Conduct client meetings and site visits, understand requirements, and identify opportunities for additional vehicles or equipment.
• Monitor contract performance and identify extensions or additional business.
• Coordinate with Operations, Fleet, HR, Procurement, and Commercial teams to align commitments with mobilization capability.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Transport Management, Commercial Management, or a related field.
• Minimum 5–7 years of relevant experience in the UAE transport, fleet, heavy equipment, oil and gas, commercial, sales, or operations sector.
• Strong knowledge of the UAE transport and equipment rental market and oil and gas site requirements.
• Experience with RFQs, RFPs, tenders, quotations, commercial negotiations, contract discussions, costing, and margin analysis.
• Working knowledge of fleet operations, equipment maintenance and operating costs, mobilization, rental pricing, and contract negotiation.
• UAE driving licence is preferred.

Equipment and Compliance Knowledge

• Relevant equipment includes passenger buses, light vehicles, 4x4 vehicles, heavy vehicles, heavy equipment, mobile and crawler cranes, water tankers, and diesel or fuel tankers.
• Knowledge includes vehicle specifications, utilization, operating costs, maintenance, mobilization costs, rental structures, and equipment availability.
• Knowledge of CICPA, DAFRA, permits, approvals, access requirements, and compliance for oil and gas sites is required.

Compensation

• Salary is AED 10,000 per month.
