Position Summary
The Business Analyst will support a global divestiture and separation programme within an industrial lubricants business.
The role will discover, document, and validate the technology landscape supporting manufacturing plants, laboratories, and technology centres.
Outputs will support buyer due diligence, separation planning, TSA development, Day 1 readiness, and transition execution.
Contract and Schedule
- The contract is for 12 months with possible extension.
- The role is scheduled for 40 hours per week.
- The stated start date is ASAP.
Location and Travel
- The role is remote, with monthly travel to Sunbury and potential occasional overseas travel.
IT Systems Discovery and Documentation
- Conduct discovery workshops and interviews with business, manufacturing, laboratory, and IT stakeholders.
- Document systems, applications, infrastructure services, interfaces, data flows, ownership, criticality, hosting, and vendor dependencies.
- Create process maps, application landscape diagrams, and dependency models.
- Validate findings with business and technical stakeholders.
Due Diligence and Dependency Analysis
- Prepare technology information and supporting documentation for buyer due diligence and data-room activities.
- Respond to requests from M&A, PMO, and Infrastructure workstreams.
- Analyse application, infrastructure, manufacturing, laboratory, integration, data exchange, and shared-service dependencies.
- Identify systems requiring migration, replication, replacement, or ongoing support after transaction close.
Cutover and Transition Support
- Support planning and readiness activities for plant, laboratory, and business site transitions.
- Track site readiness milestones, operational impacts, and key dependencies.
- Reflect migration activities in site transition plans.
- Document business impacts, risks, assumptions, and operational constraints.
- Support testing, deployment planning, cutover preparation, and hypercare activities.
Stakeholder Engagement and Deliverables
- Build relationships with site leadership, operational teams, subject matter experts, and technology teams.
- Facilitate workshops across multiple regions and time zones.
- Capture and communicate actions, risks, issues, decisions, and dependencies.
- Maintain application inventories, dependency maps, ownership matrices, readiness assessments, cutover logs, and separation documentation.
Required Qualifications
- Hold a bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Engineering, Business, Computer Science, or a related discipline.
- Have at least 5 years of business analysis experience in IT, infrastructure, or business transformation programmes.
- Have experience gathering and documenting business and technical requirements.
- Have experience with enterprise applications and infrastructure environments.
- Know business process analysis, stakeholder interviewing, workshop facilitation, process mapping, systems modelling, requirements traceability, and dependency management.
- Have strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to work independently in a global, matrixed environment.
Preferred Experience
- Experience with large-scale transformation, migration, or separation projects is desirable.
- Experience in manufacturing, chemicals, industrial products, lubricants, or process industries is preferred.
- Experience with M&A, divestitures, carve-outs, SAP, LIMS, operational technology, quality systems, supply chain, warehouse management, or service management is preferred.
Success Measures
Deliver complete, accurate, and validated technology discovery outputs.
Maintain due diligence documentation accepted by transaction stakeholders and buyers.
Accurately identify technology dependencies, shared services, and separation impacts.
Support successful site cutovers, application migrations, Day 1 readiness, and transition outcomes.
