Role Overview
The BMS Operator operates and monitors the Building Management System and connected building services.
The role supports building-service performance, alarm response, maintenance activities, energy monitoring, accurate records, and coordination with facility-management teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Continuously monitor and operate the BMS and connected building services.
- Respond to, escalate, and help resolve system alarms and faults.
- Support preventive and corrective maintenance through monitoring and troubleshooting.
- Monitor energy consumption and identify efficiency-improvement opportunities.
- Prepare reports and maintain accurate operational records.
- Coordinate with facility-management teams, helpdesk staff, vendors, and service providers.
- Assist with BMS upgrades, system integrations, and device communication verification.
- Follow health, safety, operational, audit, inspection, and system-security procedures.
- Maintain control-room operations and equipment housekeeping.
- Support emergency response and other assigned BMS and facility-management activities.
Qualifications
- Diploma or ITI in Mechanical, Electrical, or Building Services Engineering.
- 2–5 years of experience as a BMS Operator within Facility Management.
- Knowledge of BMS platforms including Honeywell, Siemens, Schneider, and Johnson Controls.
- Good understanding of HVAC systems and facility-management operations.
- Basic computer and reporting skills.
