Undertake both planned and reactive maintenance at Council facilities.
Prioritise and complete maintenance requests daily to ensure safety and security of occupants is not compromised.
Engage and supervise contractors for minor works in accordance with established procedures, level of delegation and in accordance with Council Policy.
Initiate and issue quotation documentation, in accordance with Council Policy.
Perform routine inspections of building structures, fixtures, and components to identify maintenance needs and potential issues
Execute carpentry repairs and installations, including framing, finishing, and structural modifications
Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities, repairs completed, and materials used
Diagnose and troubleshoot carpentry-related problems in a methodical and organized manner
Prepare and maintain tools and equipment in proper working condition
Follow all safety protocols and building codes to ensure compliance and workplace safety
Collaborate with other maintenance staff and contractors to coordinate repairs and improvements
Perform preventive maintenance tasks to minimize future damage and extend the lifespan of building components
Respond promptly to maintenance requests and emergency repair situations
Maintain organized work areas and ensure proper disposal of waste materials
Supervise minor works carried out by external contractors
Perform duties in accordance with the Workplace Health and Safety Act, Regulations, Codes of Practice and Council safety policies and procedures.
