Role overview
Join AECOM's Bridges team in Newcastle as a Civil and Structural Engineering Apprentice.
Gain hands-on experience across projects from concept design through implementation for local, national and international clients.
Work toward Engineering Technician status and later Incorporated Engineer status with the ICE or IStructE.
Apprentice responsibilities
- Produce CAD drawings and support structural design and desktop publishing tasks.
- Assist with project administration, record-keeping, data review and analysis.
- Contribute to problem-solving and design solutions.
- Participate in site visits to gather information or observe conditions.
- Projects may include bridge assessment, inspection and structural renewals for transport infrastructure.
Qualifications and experience
- Have at least five GCSEs or equivalent at grade C/4 or above, including Mathematics and English.
- Have three A-Levels or equivalent, including Mathematics and a physical science at grade C or above for the Level 6 Degree Apprenticeship.
- Some engineering-environment experience or shadowing is preferred.
- Show interest in software-based engineering and design, including CAD or 3D modelling.
