Role overview
Join AECOM's Bridges team in Chesterfield as a Civil and Structural Engineering Apprentice.
Gain hands-on experience on projects from concept design through implementation for local, national, and international clients.
Support bridge assessment, maintenance, structural renewals, and integrated infrastructure solutions.
Apprentice responsibilities
- Produce CAD drawings and support structural design and desktop publishing tasks.
- Assist with project administration, record-keeping, and data review.
- Contribute to problem-solving and design solutions.
- Participate in site visits to gather information or observe conditions.
- Work toward Engineering Technician status and later Incorporated Engineer status with ICE or IStructE.
Academic requirements
- Have at least five GCSEs or equivalent at grade C/4 or above, including Mathematics and English.
- Have three A-Levels or an equivalent qualification such as BTEC Level 3 in Civil Engineering, including Mathematics and a physical science at grade C or above for the Level 6 Degree Apprenticeship.
- Experience or shadowing in an engineering environment is preferred.
