- Support the formation, governance, and development of the Insurance Nexus platform at the national level
- Shape insurance readiness frameworks that make risks more observable and evidence based

- Provide claims relevant and underwriting relevant intelligence
- Facilitate public private risk finance dialogue
- Ensure national and regional insurance sector participation in Nexus Consortium portfolios
- Promote responsible innovation in insurance across AI, data, modeling, and emerging risk transfer mechanisms
Requirements
- Ability to join the Council as a paying member in good standing
- Currently hold or have recently held a senior role relevant to insurance, reinsurance, brokerage, actuarial science, or related fields
- Have a professional mandate aligned with the Council’s work
- Be able to contribute senior judgment, strategic relationships, and sector knowledge
- Understand underwriting constraints, accumulation risk, reinsurance dynamics, and related market realities
- Be able to participate in council formation, governance, working groups, and stakeholder engagement
- Have sufficient time and professional availability to serve credibly
- Meet Council good standing requirements including integrity and conflict of interest discipline

Role of the Insurance Council
- Insurance readiness frameworks that make risks more observable, evidence based, model relevant, prevention aligned, and institutionally legible.
- Risk to capital translation pathways that improve how systemic risks are interpreted for insurers, reinsurers, brokers, risk managers, investors, public authorities, infrastructure actors, and resilience stakeholders.
- Protection gap and resilience finance agendas that connect risk reduction, adaptation, infrastructure readiness, public private risk sharing, and long term market sustainability.
- Claims relevant and underwriting relevant intelligence that supports better understanding of exposure, vulnerability, loss drivers, accumulation risk, and resilience performance.
- Public private risk finance dialogue that allows insurance leaders, public authorities, infrastructure actors, financial institutions, industry, communities, and technical experts to engage in a disciplined and boundary safe environment.
- National and regional insurance sector participation in Nexus Consortium portfolios, annual build cycles, working groups, readiness pathways, and stakeholder engagement processes.
- Responsible innovation in insurance across AI, data, modeling, digital infrastructure, cyber risk, parametric approaches, resilience analytics, catastrophe intelligence, and emerging risk transfer mechanisms.
- Council level governance of Insurance Nexus priorities, ensuring that the platform remains credible, useful, market aware, evidence led, and aligned with GRA’s role as the capital readability, finance readiness, insurance readiness, diligence translation, and common business interest steward.
Requirements
- Membership readiness: Ability to join the Council as a paying member in good standing and, where applicable, become eligible for future board, committee, or council leadership consideration under the applicable governance process.
- Senior insurance sector relevance: Currently hold, or have recently held, a senior role relevant to insurance, reinsurance, brokerage, actuarial science, catastrophe modeling, underwriting, claims, risk engineering, portfolio management, resilience finance, infrastructure risk, public private risk f
- Clear professional mandate: Have a professional mandate, institutional position, sector expertise, or leadership record aligned with the Council’s work, not only a general interest in insurance, resilience, or systemic risk.
- Strategic contribution capacity: Be able to contribute senior judgment, strategic relationships, sector knowledge, practical leadership capacity, and disciplined understanding of insurance market realities.
- Market and risk literacy: Understand underwriting constraints, accumulation risk, reinsurance dynamics, claims volatility, protection gaps, regulatory expectations, capital pressures, infrastructure exposure, climate and cyber risk, catastrophe modeling, client transition challenges, and the practic
- Council participation capacity: Be able to participate in council formation, Insurance Nexus governance, working groups, portfolio development, stakeholder engagement, member consultations, annual build cycle preparation, and national or regional consortium development where appropriate.
