Job summary
The researcher will join a multidisciplinary team working on the genetic improvement of quinoa, date palm, Salicornia and colocynth.
Job responsibilities
- Analyze Whole Genome Sequencing and Genotyping by Sequencing data for ICBA crops.
- Implement annotation pipelines linking sequence annotation and phenotypic characterization.
- Organize data mining for target plant species.
- Develop tools to detect sequence-based genetic markers.
- Develop next-generation sequencing assembly, alignment, variant detection and annotation pipelines.
- Supervise assistants and students in bioinformatics.
- Contribute to the scientific program and Big Data strategy.
- Publish results in journals and at conferences.
- Develop internal and external collaborations.
- Develop projects and apply for funding.
- Work with Sanger, Illumina, PacBio, Fluidigm and MGI platforms.
- Collaborate with plant breeders, geneticists, physiologists and soil scientists.
