Big Data Developer

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.

5+ years of experience designing and implementing data solutions using Big Data technologies such as Hadoop, Spark, and Hive.

Hands-on experience with the Snowflake Data Platform.

Strong SQL development skills and solid understanding of data modeling concepts.

Experience developing applications and APIs using Scala or Java.

Experience with ETL and orchestration tools such as Informatica, Talend, or Apache Airflow.

Experience working with cloud platforms, preferably AWS.

Understanding of DevSecOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, source control management, and Infrastructure as Code.

Strong analytical, troubleshooting, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Knowledge of Generative AI tools to improve coding efficiency and developer productivity.

Experience with Apache Airflow or other workflow orchestration tools.

Experience with GitHub Actions, automated testing frameworks, Git, and modern CI/CD practices.

Knowledge of Docker, Kubernetes, OpenShift (OCP4), or containerized application deployment.

Experience with Python, Shell Scripting, or other automation languages.

Experience integrating Snowflake with reporting, analytics, and business intelligence platforms.

Salary and Other Compensation :

The annual salary for this position is between CAD 53,000 – CAD 108,000 depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.

This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.
