• In this role, you will contribute to the critical outcomes of the Australian Defence Force by delivering complex, state-of-the-art programs designed to keep Australia safe.
• Working across multiple operating systems, Windows, Linux and Unix the Battlespace Administrator is a critical role for ensuring the continued operation of the Battlespace Surveillance Centre (BSC) at the RAAF Edinburgh base. This includes managing and maintaining mission system services, performing day-to-day operational and administrative tasks, monitoring system availability and capacity, incident management, problem diagnoses and resolution, backups/patch management and cyber security while complying with change management procedures and working in a defence environment.
• Your hours of work shall average 38 hours per week over a defined work cycle, including days & nights on all days of the week from Monday to Sunday.
• Key Responsibilities
• Provides the technical operations for BSC’s complex IT server and communication solutions that comply with Raytheon and Defence technical standards and security policies.
• Manages system accounts, permissions and directory operations and ensure service delivery staff have the necessary up-to-date information for account administration activities.
• Provides the technical input into the development and maintenance of Disaster Recovery Plans & Business Continuity Plans for server and communication infrastructure.
• Monitors system performance.
• Manages software installation, configuration and updates for operating systems, firmware, and software applications including security updates as directed by configuration management authority.
