Position information

Lead Bartender position in the Food and Beverage and Culinary category.

Full-time, non-management position at the Le Méridien property in Lusail, Qatar.

Bar and guest service

  • Answer guest questions about the origin, harvest, and style of wines.
  • Check stock and supply quality and quantities.
  • Order supplies and replenish alcoholic beverages bottle by bottle.
  • Prepare beverages according to specific recipes and measurement systems.
  • Deliver, open, and serve wine and champagne.
  • Announce last call at the designated closing time.
  • Welcome and recognize guests according to company standards.
  • Communicate clearly and professionally with guests and answer telephone calls using appropriate etiquette.

Cash and inventory control

  • Compute the cash drawer and complete designated cashier reports at the end of the shift.
  • Resolve cash discrepancies, issue receipts, and keep the cash drawer secure.
  • Secure alcoholic beverages, refrigerators, cabinets, and storage areas.
  • Anticipate replenishment needs and communicate them immediately.

Team and compliance support

  • Ensure that staff work as a team and support shared goals.
  • Assist management with hiring, training, scheduling, evaluation, coaching, discipline, motivation, and employee development.
  • Follow company safety and quality assurance policies and procedures.
  • Report maintenance issues, safety hazards, accidents, and injuries, and complete required safety training and certifications.
  • Maintain a neat, professional uniform and appearance, protect company property and confidential information, and treat coworkers with dignity and respect.

Desirable qualifications

  • A secondary school diploma or GED is desirable.
  • At least one year of related work experience is desirable.
  • No supervisory experience is required, and no license or certification is listed as required.

Physical requirements

  • Lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing less than 50 pounds or 22.5 kilograms without assistance.
  • Stand, sit, or walk for extended periods or throughout the full work shift.
  • Read and visually verify information in multiple formats.
  • Use fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination to handle objects of varying sizes and weights.
  • Reach overhead and below the knees, bend, twist, drag, and lean.
  • Move through narrow, confined, elevated, inclined, uneven, slippery, and stepped areas.
