Role Overview

  • We are instructed by a leading law firm based in Dubai is seeking to recruit a junior barrister to join its growing disputes practice, with a particular focus on litigation before the DIFC and ADGM Courts.
  • This is an excellent opportunity for a recently qualified barrister looking to develop an international commercial disputes practice within one of the Middle East's leading legal markets.
  • The successful candidate will work closely with experienced litigators and advocates on a broad range of high value and complex matters.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assisting with all aspects of litigation before the DIFC and ADGM Courts.
  • Drafting pleadings, witness statements, skeleton arguments and other court documents.
  • Managing case preparation and progressing matters through all stages of litigation.
  • Conducting legal research and preparing legal memoranda.
  • Supporting senior counsel with hearings, trials and advocacy.
  • Liaising with clients, experts and external counsel.
  • Managing case files and ensuring compliance with court procedures and deadlines.

Candidate Profile

  • Have been called to the Bar of England and Wales for approximately 1–2 years (or possess comparable post call experience).
  • Demonstrate strong drafting, analytical and legal research skills.
  • Have an interest in commercial litigation and international dispute resolution.
  • Be highly organised with excellent case management abilities.
  • Possess strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Be capable of working independently while contributing effectively within a collaborative team.
  • Previous exposure to commercial litigation, arbitration or court advocacy would be advantageous, although direct DIFC or ADGM experience is not essential.
