Role Overview

A partner company is seeking an Azure Data Engineer based in the United Arab Emirates.

The role engineers reliable security data pipelines across cloud and on-premises environments.

The position supports threat detection, incident response, compliance, and cyber-risk visibility in a regulated financial-services environment.

Accountabilities

  • Design, build, and maintain security data ingestion pipelines for SIEM and cloud data platforms, including Azure Data Explorer and Log Analytics.
  • Parse, normalize, transform, enrich, and validate security telemetry using regex, JSON parsing, schema mapping, and related techniques.
  • Onboard log sources and validate end-to-end data flows with internal teams, vendors, and security stakeholders.
  • Maintain telemetry integrity, completeness, timeliness, and quality for monitoring, detection, response, reporting, and risk management.
  • Align security data with schemas, naming conventions, governance standards, and organizational requirements.
  • Troubleshoot ingestion, parsing, transformation, schema, and data-quality issues across platforms and environments.
  • Document onboarding procedures, source requirements, data mappings, pipeline configurations, and operational support processes.
  • Perform telemetry gap analyses and improve ingestion frameworks, automation, onboarding, scalability, reliability, and cost efficiency.
  • Support infrastructure-as-code, scripting, automation, regulatory logging, audit, retention, and data-integrity requirements.
  • Monitor pipeline performance and optimize reliability, throughput, and operational costs.

Requirements

  • At least 3 years of relevant experience in cybersecurity, data engineering, log management, security operations, or a related technology discipline.
  • Hands-on experience onboarding, managing, and validating log sources within SIEM, cloud data platforms, or security analytics environments.
  • Strong understanding of parsing, normalization, transformation, and validation for structured and unstructured data.
  • Experience with regex, JSON, XML, CSV, and security telemetry from network, endpoint, identity, application, cloud, and infrastructure environments.
  • Experience with cloud platforms and logging, monitoring, and analytics services, particularly within the Azure ecosystem.
  • Strong troubleshooting, analytical, organizational, communication, collaboration, judgment, and data-quality ownership skills.
  • Understanding of compliance and regulatory requirements for logging, retention, auditability, and data integrity.
  • Python or PowerShell experience is preferred, and broader cybersecurity experience is advantageous.

Opportunity Benefits

  • The role offers remote work from anywhere.
  • The opportunity provides exposure to large-scale security telemetry, SIEM platforms, Azure data services, cloud environments, and security operations.
  • The role includes cross-functional collaboration and professional growth in cloud security, telemetry, and data engineering technologies.
