Automotive / Vehicle Technician

Job Purpose

1. Technical Operations

• Conduct inspections of vehicles, accessories, and spare parts upon arrival.
• Perform and supervise Pre-Delivery Inspections (PDI) and PREP processes.
• Install/remove accessories (radios, winches, racks, etc.) as required.
• Inspect ambulance conversions at supplier sites.
• Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic faults.
• Inspect returning vehicles from operations.
• Maintain stock vehicles per manufacturer schedules.
• Coordinate with service providers and suppliers.
• Safely operate workshop tools and equipment (hoists, forklifts, compressors, etc.).
• Ensure a safe working environment at all times.

2. Administration, Documentation & Reporting

• Maintain accurate work orders, records, and inventory tracking.
• Prepare inspection reports, handover forms, invoices, and documentation.
• Ensure complete handover packs before dispatch.
• Issue gate passes and manage stock releases.
• Maintain trackers (Excel/Planner) for workflow, labor, and materials.
• Submit timely technical and administrative reports.

3. Coordination

• Liaise with Senior Vehicle Technician and Fleet Operations Officer.
• Coordinate with suppliers, freight forwarders, and internal teams.
• Support emergency deployments and stock readiness.

4. Safety & Continuous Improvement

• Follow and enforce safety procedures and reporting.
• Maintain housekeeping and workshop standards.
• Participate in continuous improvement and propose enhancements.

5. Other Duties

• Operate client vehicles when required.
• Work flexible shifts during emergencies.
• Be available for short-notice global deployments.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

General Responsibilities

• Support client goals and adhere to Red Cross principles.
• Follow organizational policies and maintain professional conduct.

Education

• Technical qualification in vehicle maintenance/inspection.
• Certified Vehicle Technician with secondary school completion.

Experience

• Minimum 3 years in vehicle preparation/mechanical field.
• Hands-on experience in mechanical, electrical, and installations.
• Manufacturing experience preferred.

Salary Offered For This Role

• AED. 5000, including VISA, Medical, annual leave, all the benefits as per the MOHRE Law, based on the experience of the candidate
