What You’ll Accomplish
Design methods for atom-light operations such as sub-Doppler cooling, state preparation and detection and quantum gates
Contribute to the development of accurate physics models describing atom-light interactions
Work with the hardware teams to implement methods on our devices
Analyse experimental results and compare them against predictions from models
The 3 Most Critical Attributes We’ll Use to Compare Candidates
Experience in designing atom-light interaction protocols for quantum technologies
Strong background in atomic physics research
A proven track record of collaboration with experimental research groups and/or quantum hardware industry
Must-have Skills (in addition to the above)
- Proficient in writing scientific code e.g. using Python
- PhD in atomic physics
- Excellent written and oral communication skills, with published results in the field of research.
Nice-to-have Skills
- Experience in quantum computing or quantum technologies
- Experience in modelling open quantum systems
