The opportunity
Support the technical vision of an animated feature in partnership with the Technical Supervisor, Solutions Engineering, and creative leadership.
Focus on the technical success of lighting, rendering, compositing, imaging, delivery, and applicable simulation or FX workflows.
Provide technical oversight, pipeline troubleshooting, user support, direction, and tool development.
Technical responsibilities
- Design tools, workflows, and procedures that enable artists to achieve the film’s visual goals.
- Troubleshoot and optimize production workflows through existing tools or new tool development.
- Test and validate tools and pipeline changes while tracking and resolving issues with technical and R&D partners.
- Contribute to the show and studio-wide pipeline and support collaboration across departments.
Bidding and scheduling
- Track development initiatives, estimates, scope, and deadlines and adjust plans to keep work on track.
- Prioritize support issues with the Technical Supervisor and coordinate cross-department testing.
- Break technical projects into manageable work, align fortnightly support allocation, and communicate information to TDs and Program Managers.
