Role Overview

The employer is seeking a Business Analyst for systems analysis and functional specification work.

The role supports analysis, testing, and delivery throughout the full software development lifecycle.

The stated location is Worli and the stated experience range is 5 to 10 years.

Key Accountabilities

  • Act as the primary business-functionality contact for offshore development and test teams supporting large-scale Public Safety applications.
  • Analyze customer requirements and produce functional specifications or Agile user stories for development and testing.
  • Link offshore development and test teams with onshore teams regarding business requirements and functionality.
  • Work with Product Owners, Product Managers, and onshore Business Analysts to ensure software meets functional requirements.
  • Collaborate with QA teams to ensure solutions are tested and meet stated business requirements.
  • Respond to development-team queries about product functionality and coordinate appropriate answers.
  • Assist with feature prioritization and with categorizing internal and external change requests and defects.
  • Prepare system test plans, define test scenarios, and collaborate with QA on release or sprint scope.
  • Analyze and document business processes and workflows.
  • Escalate scope or delivery risks, propose alternatives, and support agreed process improvements.

Essential Requirements

  • 5 to 10 years of experience is specified for the role.
  • Communicate and collaborate effectively with end users and onshore business teams.
  • Communicate and collaborate with onshore and offshore development and QA teams.
  • Write and present functional requirements as formal documents or Agile user stories.
  • Analyze cascading impacts across multiple business functionalities and applications.
  • Prioritize, estimate, and schedule tasks according to sprint timelines and business priorities.

Desirable Requirements

  • Familiarity with the Public Safety domain is preferred.
  • Experience with Agile project development, particularly Scrum, is desirable.
  • Experience writing user stories, managing product backlogs, and supporting sprint estimation is desirable.
  • Reviewing QA test cases and providing detailed guidance on requirements is desirable.
  • Basic knowledge of estimation is desirable.
