The Quality Associate is responsible for monitoring and ensuring the quality, freshness, safety, and compliance of fresh products including fruits, vegetables, and meat across stores, warehouses, and suppliers.
The role involves conducting inspections, identifying quality deviations, supporting corrective actions, and ensuring compliance with food safety standards and company specifications.
What’s On Your Plate?
Conduct routine quality inspections for fruits, vegetables, and meat products at stores, distribution centers, and supplier locations.
Verify product compliance with company specifications, food safety requirements, and applicable regulatory standards.
Evaluate freshness, appearance, color, texture, ripeness, packaging condition, temperature, and shelf life.
Perform sampling and inspection activities using standard quality procedures and checklists.
Monitor product handling, storage conditions, hygiene practices, and cold chain compliance.
Identify defects, non-conformities, damages, contamination risks, or quality deviations and report findings accordingly.
Coordinate with operations, suppliers, and store teams to implement corrective and preventive actions.
Support product rejection and escalation processes when quality standards are not met.
Maintain inspection records, reports, and quality documentation accurately.
Assist in supplier performance evaluations and quality improvement initiatives.
Ensure compliance with HACCP, food safety standards, and internal quality protocols.
Support investigations related to customer complaints and quality incidents.
Build and maintain effective relationships with store employees, suppliers, and management teams.
Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Food Science, Agriculture, Food Technology, Quality Assurance, or related field.
Experience
in quality assurance, fresh produce, meat inspection, or food retail operations is preferred.
Knowledge of fresh produce quality parameters, meat handling, and food safety practices.
Familiarity with HACCP, GMP, and food safety standards.
Strong attention to detail and analytical skills.
Good communication and reporting skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced operational environment.
- Valid UAE Driving License is strictly required (must be willing and able to travel independently across operational sites, dark stores, and retail locations).
