About Us

At ANZ, we're shaping a world where people and communities thrive, driven by a common goal: to improve the financial wellbeing and sustainability of our millions of customers.

About the Role

The Associate, Op Risk Procurement supports second line oversight of non-financial and operational risks across Group Operations Function (Group Procurement, Property, Group Transformation and GCC) . It provides structured support on risk analysis, coordination, reporting and control review activities.

The role has a direct reporting line into the Senior Manager - Risk for Operations. Work is prioritised based on agreed objectives, portfolio needs and second line risk priorities.

The role contributes to effective governance by identifying and assessing emerging risks, control gaps and recurring themes, and ensuring these are clearly documented and escalated for senior review. It supports second line oversight rather than owning or operating controls, with an expectation to provide challenge and surface issues early to drive better outcomes.

Role Type: Permanent Role Location: Melbourne, Sydney or Brisbane Work Hours: Full-Time

What will your day look like?

Support the review of Group Procurement, Property, Group Transformation and GCC, risk assessments, including coordinating inputs and identifying gaps for escalation

Assist with control reviews by gathering evidence, documenting observations and supporting assessments of design and operating effectiveness

Maintain portfolio trackers/registers (as required) with appropriate version control and evidence standards to support second line oversight activities

Prepare risk reporting, packs and materials for governance forums, ensuring accuracy, completeness and clear traceability to source evidence

Support consistent application of risk frameworks, policies and standards through coordination, documentation and quality checks of first line outputs

Support the Senior Manager Group Operations in delivering portfolio insights by collating themes, metrics and key messages for reporting cycles

Coordinate updates, inputs and deliverables across the hard-line and matrix reporting arrangements, escalating conflicts or constraints early and maintaining clear records of decisions and priorities

Support audit, assurance and regulatory engagement activities by collating evidence, maintaining audit trails, tracking actions and supporting timely responses under the direction of senior risk leaders

Portfolio risk and control forums (attending in support capacity as required)

Supplier/outsourcing governance forums (supporting pack preparation and action tracking)

What will you bring?

Foundational experience in risk, compliance, audit or assurance

Strong analytical and documentation skills, with attention to detail and evidence traceability

Strong stakeholder engagement skills and ability to work collaboratively across first and second line stakeholders

Ability to manage priorities and deliver quality outputs to deadlines

Exposure to procurement, supplier, outsourcing or offshore delivery models

Experience supporting governance forums, committee packs or management reporting
