In this role, you'll
Support the planning, development, and delivery of placemaking initiatives that create vibrant, safe, and people focused public spaces and transport precincts across NSW.
Working across research, strategy, project delivery, and stakeholder engagement, you will lead place based projects, grants and partnership programs, and community activation initiatives that enhance public spaces and improve community outcomes.
The role combines evidence based research, co-design, stakeholder collaboration, and project management to deliver innovative placemaking solutions that align with government and organisational priorities.

This is a temporary fixed-term position based in Sydney, NSW ending 30/04/2027.
About you
You are a passionate and collaborative placemaking professional with experience delivering community focused projects, public space initiatives, grant programs, or place based strategies. You enjoy working at the intersection of research, engagement, and delivery, using evidence and community insights to create meaningful outcomes for people and places.
You'll bring:
• Experience in placemaking, urban planning, community activation, public space projects, economic development, urban design, or related fields.
• The ability to manage projects from planning through to delivery, including stakeholder engagement, procurement, contract management, and program governance.
• Strong stakeholder engagement and partnership-building skills, with experience working across government, local councils, community groups, consultants, and delivery partners.
• Experience using research, data, spatial analysis, or community insights to inform project outcomes and strategic recommendations.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate complex information into clear reports, presentations, and recommendations.
• A proactive and creative approach to problem solving, with a passion for creating vibrant, inclusive, and people-focused places.
