Associate Engineer - Digital Technology

This role plays an important role in creating and maintaining software solutions supporting United's Airport Operations applications.

This role is to develop, design, create and modify software applications/systems to support core business functions.

This individual will apply proven technical (best practices and patterns), communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills to help develop/design/implement software applications/systems to maximize IT's benefit to United Airlines.

• Participate in the design, development, and planning for the software architecture for United’s technology platforms
• Solve complex performance problems and architectural challenges.
• Participate in code reviews.
• Serve as an integral member of the development team to create practical solutions in Agile/DevOps environment
• Ensure consistency with an established software development architecture
• Analyze and interpret requirements from Business and UX Design Team
• Introduce new technologies and best practices as needed to solve business problems
• Help to troubleshoot, test, and maintain the quality and security of the platform
• Work in an Agile environment
• Strong team player and good communicator

What’s needed to succeed (Minimum Qualifications):

• B.E./B.Tech. in a related technical field, or equivalent experience, education or training.
• 1- 2 Years of experience as Full Stack Developer.
• Strong foundation in programming paradigms and architectural concepts, including object-oriented programming, data structures and algorithms and database systems.
• Experience in .NET, Angular and microservices architecture.
• Familiarity with AWS Services like S3, DynamoDB, Lambda, Step function, ECS, EKS.
• Experience in writing quality code and on time delivery of quality components and or applications
• Experience at component and unit testing of following standard practices and methodologies
• Effective verbal and written communication skills with a strong team-player mindset.
• Good understanding of the software development lifecycle and Agile methodology.

What will help you propel from the pack (Preferred Qualifications):

• 12 months+ of experience developing applications in Full stack.
• 12 months+ of experience building RESTful APIS using .Net Frameworks.
• 6 months + of experience building UI components using Angular or similar type script frameworks.
• Hands-on working experience with messaging brokers.
• Familiarity with software engineering best practices that drive enterprise-wide improvement, including DevOps and Observability.
• Experience in AI tools like Copilot, Gemini or Claude Code or similar
• Experience working with Git/GitHub code repositories.
