Associate Director, Corporate Origination and Business Development

Job Purpose

Client Origination

• Drive origination of new-to-bank corporate relationships in Saudi Arabia.
• Identify growth opportunities, structure financing solutions, and onboard clients.
• Increase Mashreq’s strategic market share in Saudi Arabia.

Cross-Border Exposure

• Coordinate with Enterprise Risk Management to manage Mashreq’s cross-border exposure to Saudi Arabia.
• Submit cross-border enhancement requests to senior management when required and proactively manage exposure.

Portfolio Coordination

• Coordinate the Saudi Arabia portfolio across Corporate Banking, Risk, Compliance, Treasury, and other bank departments.
• Align regional strategies with Mashreq’s corporate banking objectives and support consistent client solutions.

Framework and Growth

• Maintain and refine the Saudi Arabia framework to reflect market developments, regulatory changes, and business goals.
• Submit revised framework proposals for approval in line with long-term strategy and risk appetite.
• Drive growth of the Saudi Arabia asset book across sectors and products.

Risk and Compliance

• Ensure transactions comply with Mashreq’s risk appetite and approved framework.
• Coordinate due diligence and approvals with the Credit Management and Control Unit.
• Work with internal teams to maintain credit quality, policy compliance, and regulatory adherence.

Market and Stakeholder Management

• Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and regulatory changes in Saudi Arabia to inform strategy.
• Report portfolio performance, cross-border exposure, transactions, and significant developments to senior leadership.
• Coordinate daily with Corporate Banking, Risk, Treasury, Legal, Operations, and Compliance teams.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

• 7–10 years of corporate banking experience with significant Saudi Arabian and broader GCC exposure.
• Experience originating corporate deals, managing cross-border transactions, and overseeing complex portfolios.
• Knowledge of Saudi Arabian market trends, competitor activity, and regulatory changes.
