Primary Responsibilities
- Perform structural analysis and/or design of Bridges (Highway & Railroad), Waterfront Structures, Culverts, Retaining Walls, and Overhead Sign Structures on a variety of projects (bridge replacement/rehabilitation, highway improvement, etc.); this includes multi-disciplinary projects for VDOT, CBBTD, NCDOT, DDOT, MDOT, DelDOT, PennDOT, and other agencies/bridge owners throughout the Mid-Atlantic Region.
- Perform NBIS Bridge inspections in Virginia and North Carolina as well as the surrounding states (with occasional opportunities for domestic travel).
- Produce high-quality technical writing for use in bridge inspection reports, specifications, studies, and other engineering documents.
- Additional tasks may be assigned, as needed.
Required Attributes
Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or a related discipline (e.g.: Structural Engineering)
Successfully passed the Fundamental of Engineering Exam (EIT)
2+ years bridge inspection experience.
Meet NBIS Topside Team Inspector requirements
Valid state driver’s license.
Competent interpersonal and communication skills when interacting with others.
Capable of self-leadership with attention to detail, ability to learn new techniques, perform multiple tasks simultaneously, follow instructions, and comply with company policies.
Ability to work independently under general supervision, as well as part of a team to meet client objectives.
Occasional travel/overnight travel will be required depending on project-specific requirements and project location.
Microstation or AutoCAD proficiency
