Strategic Ownership & Leadership
Own and manage the cloud ecosystem across AWS, Azure, and GCP, ensuring they operate with high efficiency, strong governance, and predictable costs.
Lead a small team of cloud engineers, guiding and coaching them in roadmap creation, prioritization, execution, and skills development.
Act as a strategic advisor to engineering, architecture, and business stakeholders on sandbox governance, usage patterns, and optimization strategies.
Establish and enforce policies for onboarding, offboarding, resource lifecycle, and access management for users.
Operational Excellence & Automation
Design and implement automation for sandbox provisioning, quota management, access approval workflows, scheduling, and spin-up/spin-down processes.
Develop and maintain reusable automation frameworks (Terraform, Ansible, Python, Cloud-native tools) for repeatable lab operations.[MS1]
Create self-service capabilities and guardrails for sandbox users to reduce manual effort and improve governance.
Collaborate on lab, demo, and proof of concept engagements with internal and external stakeholders.
FinOps, Cost Governance & Optimization
Implement a FinOps-aligned operating model for all accounts including tagging standards, cost allocation, budget enforcement, and showback/chargeback across all clouds.
Continuously analyze cloud spend trends, forecast usage, and proactively identify opportunities for rightsizing, decommissioning, and efficiency improvements.
Build automation for policy-based cleanup of unused/idle resources.
Security, Governance & Compliance
Define and implement security guardrails, baseline configurations, identity/access rules, and monitoring policies for sandbox environments.
