Role Overview

Candidate Profile

• The role requires 2 to 7 years of experience with transport modelling software or associated modelling tools.
• At least one year of hands-on experience using PTV VISUM is required.
• Experience with network coding, calibration, validation, demand matrix development, scenario forecasting, and survey data analysis is required.
• Understanding of UK and Ireland standards and guidelines, including DfT, UK TAG, TAF, and TII PAG, is required.

Key Responsibilities

• Support strategic multimodal modelling projects for highways and public transport.
• Contribute to surveys, model development, calibration, validation, demand matrix development, forecasting, and economic appraisal.
• Check outputs for quality requirements and industry best practice.
• Deliver Variable Demand Modelling processes and maintain model robustness and compliance with guidance.
• Analyse complex datasets using Python, Power BI, VB, and other analytical tools.
• Integrate outputs with ArcGIS, MapInfo, and QGIS for spatial analysis and communication.
• Support Traffic Impact Assessments, infrastructure scheme appraisal, business cases, and technical reports.
• Work with the team on project delivery and staff development.

Modelling Tools

• Required modelling experience includes PTV VISUM and associated modelling tools.
