Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in law, Shariah Law, or Islamic Jurisprudence
- 0 3 years experience in an Internal Shariah Control function
- Strong English proficiency with good spoken Arabic
- AAOIFI or CIBAFI professional certification is an added advantage

Job Overview
- The Assistant Shariah Manager acts as the primary risk steward for ensuring technical adherence to Shariah requirements.
- Supports Islamic Finance transactions within HSBC Group, ensuring alignment with Shariah standards and risk management framework.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Support the Head of Islamic Finance Control by reviewing product and financing documentation for Shariah compliance.
- Help embed the agreed Shariah Review Process across all business units.
- Assist in managing relationships with Shariah scholars, industry bodies, and external legal counsel.
- Conduct Shariah research and contribute to product development and enhancement.
- Support delivery of ongoing Shariah learning and training for key internal stakeholders.
- Provide secretariat support to the ISSC and SCGC.
Experience & Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in law, Shariah Law, or Islamic Jurisprudence.
- 0–3 years’ experience in an Internal Shariah Control function.
- Strong English proficiency with good spoken Arabic.
- AAOIFI or CIBAFI professional certification is an added advantage.
