Job summary
The Assistant Restaurant Manager supports restaurants, bars, and applicable room-service operations.
The role assists with daily supervision, menu planning, sanitation, guest service, training, and operational performance.
Education and experience
- A high school diploma or GED plus four years of relevant food and beverage, culinary, or related professional experience is acceptable.
- Alternatively, a relevant two-year degree plus two years of relevant food and beverage, culinary, or related professional experience is acceptable.
Team management
- Handle employee questions and concerns and monitor whether performance expectations are met.
- Provide feedback based on observed service behaviours.
- Assist with supervising daily shifts and supervise restaurant areas when the Director of Restaurants or Restaurant Manager is absent.
- Participate in department meetings and communicate departmental goals.
- Supervise ongoing training initiatives and use available on-the-job training tools.
- Communicate performance expectations and coach and counsel employees about performance.
