Job purpose
Lead cost-out, growth, and business-continuity initiatives for the HVC-Speciality and Durables portfolio across South Asia and SSA.
Own product and process development for new materials and products using the DDOS model and Six Sigma processes.
Act as the materials-component expert for paper and film liners and other PSA label design and application components.
Key accountabilities
- Manage A3 plans, timelines, CTQs, specifications, material and application test plans, stage-gate reports, and reviews.
- Develop raw materials with suppliers and assess product opportunities and commercial feasibility.
- Coordinate raw-material selection, project timelines, new-product development, and market introduction.
- Manage coater trials in India plants and converting trials with customers and end users.
- Establish technical specifications, prepare product datasheets, and support product launches.
- Report regional cost-out results monthly and troubleshoot or customize products to meet customer needs.
- Investigate customer applications, track development projects, provide trip reports, and assess regulatory requirements.
Education and experience
- Master’s degree in Chemical Engineering or Polymer Science.
- 7 to 10 years of related technical experience.
- At least 5 years of experience in packaging film or paper manufacturing, adhesive compounding, or related industries.
- Experience with product development and product commercialization processes.
- Strong project-management, problem-solving, analytical, customer relationship, and multifunctional teamwork capabilities.
Required skills
- Fluent spoken and written English.
- Strong technical report-writing and presentation skills.
- Minitab and statistical knowledge.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong command of common computer programs including MS Office, Minitab, and Google Drive.
- Self-motivated, independent, collaborative, customer-focused, and able to exercise sound judgment.
Preferred experience
- Knowledge of narrow web printing technologies including UV flexo, digital, gravure, offset, and letterpress.
- Knowledge of adhesive and top-coat formulations and their chemistry.
- Previous experience working in a multinational corporation.
