Responsibilities
- Advise the manager on progress of all work under control
- Communicate on operational issues and coordinate stevedoring services
- Represent shipping lines and ship operators in preparation of shipping documentation and processing regulatory requirements
- Coordinate and communicate on shipping agency operational matters on behalf of agency shipping lines
- Conduct risk assessments on activities within department ensuring safe methods and systems of work
- Ensure all employees and contractors under control are competent to undertake their duties
- Ensure all accidents, incidents, and near misses are reported and investigated
- Promote good behaviors and set personal example regarding occupational health and safety
Requirements
- Experience in shipping agency operations and stevedoring coordination
- Knowledge of shipping documentation and regulatory requirements
- Ability to conduct risk assessments and ensure safe systems of work
- Strong communication and coordination skills

Communication
- Internal Communication: Manager Shipping Agency, Port Services. Purpose: To advise the manager on progress of work under control; to communicate on operational issues and coordinate stevedoring services.
- External Communication: Shipping Lines & Ship Operators, Official Authorities. Purpose: To represent shipping lines in documentation and regulatory requirements; to coordinate shipping agency operational matters.
