About the Role
Qatar Navigation (Milaha) seeks an Assistant Manager for Shipping Agency Operations in Doha. You will coordinate vessel operations, liaise with port authorities, negotiate charges, and ensure compliance.

Responsibilities
- Represent Milaha agency for various monthly meetings with Port Authorities
- Correspondence with Port, Customs authorities for obtaining vessel suitability approvals and Port clearances
- Preparation of PDA details for all Agency vessels and forwarding to Shipping Accounts
- Coordinate / Liaise with finance to ensure all port charges/funds received from principals
- Negotiate & communicate with charters & principals regarding Port charges, Agency charges and confirm vessel agency appointment
- Negotiate with Port operators on behalf of charters & principals for clarification, fixation of various charges
- Planning, notifying and coordinate with Liners, Principals & Masters for vessel pre calling arrangements
- Attending RORO Lines safety awareness meeting & doing presentation
- Fully responsible for implementation, conducting & feedback of safety regulations instructed by Agency RORO Lines
- Coordinate with principals and arrange necessary requirements like crew change, Medical assistance, shore leave, gate passes
- Coordinate with Terminal to arrange pilot for smooth berthing and sailing out
- Responsible for operation planning & monitoring to prevent cargo claims and vessel damage claims
Requirements
- Diploma / Degree in Economics, Engineering, Business Administration, or equivalent
- 10 years of experience in shipping agencies
- Good knowledge of shipping agencies operations and general cargo berths (Loading / Discharging & Stowage)
- Good knowledge of local and international shipping related laws and regulations
- Good knowledge of Government organizations, procedures, policies and regulations
- Computer Skills: MS Office
- Language Skills: English (Read, write & speak)

Communication
- Internal Communication: Advise Manager on progress; communicate on operational issues and coordinate stevedoring services.
- External Communication: Represent shipping lines and ship operators; coordinate and communicate on shipping agency operational matters.
