Job Overview
Assistant Manager - Operational Risk is responsible for reviewing, monitoring, and coordinating risk-related activities across Tanfeeth.
The role involves conducting risk reviews, managing risk assessments, and driving risk awareness across the organization.
The position reports to the Head of Operational Risk and is part of the Operational Risk unit.
Key Responsibilities
- Review and update INA observations to ensure accurate updates are provided to INA and Tanfeeth management.
- Track and monitor open items with various issue owners for completion within set timelines.
- Recommend best practices to be implemented across various units in Tanfeeth.
- Support units to self-report management identified issues before Audit activities commence.
- Conduct Independent Risk Reviews for High Risk teams.
- Review New Product and Process Assessment (NPPA) with impacted units.
- Initiate ORCA for critical units and enhance KRIs.
- Operational Risk events reporting, tracking, and trend analysis.
- Drive Monthly risk review sessions with Functional Risk Champions.
- Create Operational risk awareness across the organization.
- Track status of recommendations from investigations of major Fraud cases.
- Review RCAs on Real Time Alerts for medium and high-risk events.
Job Requirements
- 5-7 years of experience in risk/internal controls or process reviews in a bank.
- Bachelor's degree in any field.
- Proficiency in English.
- Experience with banking products, processes, and systems.
- Understanding of operational risk and Basel II approaches.
- Leadership and team management skills.
- Analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work in a multicultural and diverse environment.
Qualifications
- Banking experience.
- Language proficiency in Written and Spoken English.
- Knowledge of banking products, processes, and systems.
- Ability to undertake ownership and lead reviews.
- Understanding of operational risk and Basel II approaches.
- Team player with right attitude.
- Analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Professional certifications in risk is preferable but not a requirement.
- Managerial and Leadership skills.
- Relationship and conflict management.
- Communication skills.
