Job Summary
Assistant Manager role in the Ocean Freight department handling end-to-end ocean import and export shipments.
The role coordinates documentation, stakeholders, shipment execution, delivery, billing, and operational compliance.
Location and Work Setting
- The position is based in Chennai.
- Work location is in person.
Shipment Operations
- Handle end-to-end ocean import and export shipment operations.
- Coordinate customers, shipping lines, overseas agents, customs house agents, and transporters.
- Coordinate bookings, vessel schedules, shipment tracking, arrivals, and deliveries.
- Follow up on shipment status and resolve operational issues.
Documentation and Compliance
- Prepare and verify BL, SI, invoices, packing lists, and related documents.
- Handle import DO, IGM, customs clearance, and delivery coordination.
- Coordinate export SI, VGM, BL drafts, and vessel cut-off requirements.
- Maintain shipment records, close files accurately, and follow company SOPs.
