The Assistant Director of Sales supports the Director of Sales in driving the hotel's commercial strategy and revenue performance.
The role focuses on government, royal affairs, diplomatic, and strategic institutional accounts across Saudi Arabia.
The role positions the hotel for government, royal, diplomatic, VIP, corporate, MICE, and high-profile events.
Account Strategy and Business Development
- Support the annual Government and Royal Affairs sales strategy, business plan, account plans, and revenue objectives.
- Manage key government, royal, diplomatic, and strategic institutional accounts.
- Build relationships with ministries, authorities, royal offices, embassies, diplomatic missions, and strategic organizations.
- Identify and convert high-value opportunities and maintain a pipeline of strategic accounts.
- Develop account plans, track production, and grow recurring revenue.
Commercial Activities
- Negotiate government rates, preferred agreements, corporate agreements, long-stay arrangements, accommodation contracts, event agreements, and strategic partnerships.
- Monitor government procurement processes, tenders, preferred supplier requirements, calendars, national initiatives, and major events.
- Conduct sales calls, executive meetings, presentations, client visits, site inspections, familiarization visits, and client entertainment.
- Coordinate VIP and high-profile hotel visits and communicate client requirements to relevant departments.
Operations and Collaboration
- Work with Operations, Front Office, Guest Relations, Events, Security, Reservations, and other departments to deliver stays and events.
- Ensure business generated through strategic accounts is handed over with clear requirements, expectations, and timelines.
- Maintain accurate account information, contacts, activities, opportunities, pipelines, production, contracts, and account plans.
- Monitor account performance against targets and implement corrective action where needed.
- Support the Director of Sales in leading, coaching, and developing the Sales team.
Key Requirements
- At least five years of progressive sales experience in luxury hospitality with significant Saudi market exposure is required.
- Experience managing government, royal affairs, diplomatic, or strategic institutional accounts in Saudi Arabia is required.
- An established network with Saudi government entities, ministries, authorities, royal offices, embassies, and strategic organizations is required.
- Strong knowledge of the Saudi hospitality, government, corporate, and MICE landscape is required.
- A proven record of generating and converting high-value business and achieving sales and revenue targets is required.
- Experience with CRM systems, account management, sales reporting, forecasting, and commercial planning is required.
Competencies
- Excellent negotiation, communication, presentation, and relationship-management skills are required.
- The role requires commercial acumen, senior stakeholder relationship-building, and the ability to translate relationships into revenue.
- Strong understanding of luxury hospitality standards and VIP guest expectations is required.
- Professional appearance, discretion, integrity, and the ability to represent an ultra-luxury hotel are required.
