Role overview
HSBC is seeking an experienced professional for the role of Assistant Director, Data and Analytics.
The position is part of the Fraud Analytics team and supports analytical solutions across multiple businesses, regions, and markets.
Role responsibilities
- Act as a subject matter expert and conceptualize analytical solutions for complex business problems.
- Lead and mentor a team delivering analytical and strategic recommendations.
- Design fraud and risk typologies and build anomaly detection models, rules, and graph network solutions.
- Deploy fraud controls across markets.
- Work with stakeholders and teams to drive solutions through implementation.
Candidate requirements
- 7–10 years of hands-on analytics experience solving complex business problems using data.
- Ability to translate business problems into analytical problems.
- Bachelor's or master's degree in statistics, economics, or another quantitative field.
- Programming foundation in R, Python, SAS, SQL, cloud technologies, or equivalent analytical tools.
- Strong data-handling and data visualization skills with the ability to tell a story through data.
- At least 7 years of experience applying statistical concepts or machine learning models to complex business problems.
