Key Responsibilities
- Teaching Medical Microbiology, including bacteriology, virology, mycology, and parasitology, to undergraduate medical students within an integrated, competency based curriculum
- Designing and facilitating practical and laboratory sessions, including culture techniques, antimicrobial sensitivity testing, molecular diagnostics, and infection control practices, ensuring relevance to clinical applications
- Leading problem based learning, case discussions, and infection related clinical correlations to strengthen students’ understanding of the role of microbiology in patient care
- Supervising and mentoring students in research projects, scholarly presentations, and publications in microbiology and related disciplines
- Conducting independent and collaborative research in medical microbiology, infectious diseases, or antimicrobial resistance, with dissemination in peer reviewed journals
- Actively contributing to curriculum design, accreditation processes, and quality assurance initiatives, as well as participating in departmental, college, and university service activities
