About the Role

Responsibilities
- Teach undergraduate and graduate level courses and supervise capstone graduation projects in Environmental Engineering
- Attract externally funded research projects and conduct original research leading to publications in top ranked international journals
- Contribute to advising and mentoring of undergraduate and postgraduate students including supervision of M.Sc. and Ph.D. students
- Provide services to the community, society, and the university
- Play an active role in promoting the growth of the College of Engineering at UAEU
- Develop undergraduate and graduate courses/programs with a focus on environmental engineering
Requirements
- Ph.D. in Environmental Engineering
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering
- Demonstrated record of publications in leading international journals in Environmental Engineering
- Ability to develop independent research, secure research funds, and establish a network with industrial partners
- Ability to teach a variety of undergraduate and graduate courses in Environmental Engineering
- Familiarity with outcome based education and accreditation processes (e.g., ABET)
- Strong communication skills and ability to work collegially and collaboratively

Job Description
- The Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at UAEU invites qualified candidates for a full time faculty position at Assistant/Associate Professor in Environmental Engineering.
- Candidates must have a Ph.D. in Environmental Engineering and a B.Sc. in Civil Engineering.
- Research areas of interest include big data and AI in environmental applications, physical/chemical treatment, fate and transport of pollutants, indoor air quality, food energy water nexus, environmental health, biotechnology, waste management, and techno economic analysis.
- The successful candidate will develop and teach undergraduate and graduate courses, and have access to world class lab facilities and research funding.
Minimum Qualification
- Applicants must hold a Ph.D. in Environmental Engineering.
- B.Sc. degree must be in Civil Engineering.
- Industrial and professional experience is an advantage.
Preferred Qualification
- Ability to teach a variety of undergraduate and graduate courses.
- Effective communication skills and ability to work collegially and collaboratively.
